Sylvia’s Enchilada Kitchen is taking its food on the road today with the launch of its “No Borders” food truck, one of the few food trucks in town from a bricks and mortar restaurant. Owner Sylvia Casares said she decided to go mobile because her frontera cuisine lends itself well to a food truck.
She and partner Michael Warren will be offering tacos, tortas and – naturally – the enchiladas that made Casares famous. The food, however, will be different from her restaurants and will feature Warren’s mesquite-smoked meats.
The No Borders food truck will do lunch on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Washington in the Rebel’s Honky Tonk parking lot; dinner and late night service on Thursday from 8:30 p.m. to midnight and Friday and Saturday from 8:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. at 5023 Washington at Urban Living. The truck also is available for private parties and corporate events.
