Vanarin Kuch of Tiny Boxwood's is one of 50 dessert-makers vying for the title of Food and Wine’s People’s Best New Pastry Chef.
The online contest got under Feb. 8 and voting continues through Feb. 14. The winner will be announced Feb. 15 and profiled in the May issue of Food & Wine. Also the winner will be part of Godiva’s participation in the Food & Wine Classic June 15-17 in Aspen.
As for the process, the chefs -- all who haven run a restaurant pastry kitchen for less than five years -- were selected by journalists, chefs and Food & Wine “trusted sources.”
Kuch, you may recall, was one of 14 chefs who chased the Bravo TV title Top Chef Just Desserts last summer.
Three other Texas-based (all in Austin) chefs are in the contest include Laura Sawicki of La Condesa, Josh Matlock of Paggie House and Steven Cak of Parkside.

If I could ever get into Tiny Boxwood's, maybe I'd know whether or not I should vote for him. But 29-95 telling me to do it won't cut it.
I would if i thought the pastries were good. PS they arent.
