A plucky taco restaurant on a plucky block of Main Street. Stop in for breakfast tacos, or the regular lunch kind. All versions are tasty and filling. Quesadillas, tortas and nachos also are on the menu. With décor inspired by old Mexican cinema, Tacos a Go-Go is an oasis of cool. Open until 2 a.m. on the weekends for Continental Club, Mink or Big Top patrons, as well as any old METRORail rider who gets off at the Ensemble/HCC stop.
Vibe: Casual.
This place is awesome! It can get hectic with large crowds because the place is so small, but I have not had any issues with my order being incorrect. Luck or no luck, I'm coming back again and again :)
Well well, Mrs Pretty thinks that going to a small independent taco shop is the same as going to a " Ruth's Chris" or perhaps " The Reef " just around the corner. They should have kicked you out and told you outright, DON'T COME BACK!. This is good place and your too much.
Don't care if you go to a taco stand or Ruth's Chris should still get what you ordered.
if ordered something without sour cream then yes the expectation is order should come minus that item
Maybe your the same way. Your missing it. It's a Taco Stand, the whole world does not revolve around one ( apparent ) ego-maniac type of customer. If you ordered something without sour cream, then either take if off or ask if they could take it off. To make such a "end of the world" deal out of it makes you look just dumb. The fact of the matter is, sometimes ( by accident ) sour cream may be placed on. It is by no means a reason to speak disparagingly about a good quality independent restaurant who has survived when many many fail. But on the other hand, if you want to feel like the man, because your dropping good money on those Tacos ( 2-3 dollars each) then knock yourself out, because your the man and you demand service.
The food was ok. The service was horrible. I went for the first time and got an unfriendly cashier. The only time she smiled was when a fellow employee spoke to her. When I informed her I was there for the first time and needed help with the menu, I did not get help I got a blank stare. I requested no creams on my tostads I got I guess sour cream. My order was not at all what I ordered. I think my order would have been correct if the cashier was listening to me instead of what was going on in the kitchen. I was so disappointed. I know that my not going back there will not make or brake them. It just so sad that a place gets so successful they forget`about simple customer service.
I've been to this place over 20 times and never have I had an unfriendly cashier. Stephanie is usually the one taking care of me and she has always been great and helpful. The food is quick, tasty, and cheap.
Lower your expectations, it's a taco stand. If you're lactose-intolerant you should probably avoid Tex-Mex food anyway...
