Marmaduke chewed up his owner-lady's brand new hat. This sort of pointless destruction has become so commonplace that the only thing that seems to phase her about the whole situation is her husband's mistaking the hat for a slipper.
To be fair to Owner Man, everything looks pretty much the same once it passes through a Great Dane's digestive track and is pooped on the floor at the bottom of the stairs.
And lots of women wear hats nowadays.
What the hell is going on with the owner-lady's legs? How is she staying upright?
Severe osteoporosis would be my guess.
The only time I've ever seen a dog look that sad and scared is immediately after being punched in the face.
That should be "faze", not "phase."
