The best and worst ads of the fall tv season

    WATCH THIS

    • America's Got talent: It's the big finale (finally)! Will Houston's own Barbara Padilla take it all? 7 p.m., NBC
    • America's Next Top Model: Well, they've already gotten rid of the crazy Jesus chick, and they've already done the makeovers, so what's left? 7 p.m., THE CW
    • So You Think You Can Dance: Phoenix auditions tonight, kids. 7 p.m., FOX
    • The Beautiful Life: TBL: Yeah, they added ":TBL" to the title of this model soap opera (and by "model soap opera" I mean soap opera about models, not the ideal soap opera -- that would be All My Children.). I guess they think the kidz will start calling it that? Like KFC? Or something? Ashton Kutcher needs to cut it out already. Season premiere. 8 p.m., THE CW
    • Gordon Ramsey's F Word: I had completely forgotten that Ramsey was busy cursing on another network. Oh well, tonight's the season finale. 8 p.m., BBCA
    • Truth Be Told: "I have a child with special needs," season finale 8 p.m., TLC
    • Dark Blue: Dylan McDermott's (remember him?) police drama has its season finale tonight. 9 p.m., TNT
    • Primetime: Family Secrets: ABC is going to try again: this was preempted last night by Barbara Walter's interview with Patrick Swayze. Season finale. 9 p.m., ABC
    • Mysteryquest: The season premiere explores Hitler's "escape." Listen, I saw Inglourious Basterds -- I know my history, thanks. 9 p.m., HISTORY
    • Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights: A reality show with ultimate fighters. If that's your thing. Which it is for a surprising number of people. Season premiere. 9 p.m., SPIKE
    • Top Chef: Oh lord, they're cooking "cowboy" food involving cactus for "Texas" chef, Tim Love. If they wanted to address a real cowboy-cooking debate, they'd tackle "beans or no beans." Cactus, pfft. 9 p.m., TLC
