Huh, the SNL "MacGruber" movie looks surprisingly not shitty

Five reasons I'm excited about this:

    1. VAL KILMER RETURNS TO COMEDY! And to the public radar, for that matter. His greatest film was unquestionably 1984's Top Secret, a Zuckered-up spy spoof that tread similar ground. This bodes well.

    2. It looks like they're actually going to try to make this into an honest-to-god feature film, rather than just another Saturday Night Live skit with 14 times the running length and 1.5 times the budget.

    3. Kirsten Wiig. Oh, Kirsten Wiig. I could stare at your big dewey eyes and (second) adorable button nose all day and all night. It's a good thing she's hilarious because otherwise I'd just be sexist, instead of sexist AND a comedy fan.

    4. Will Forte remains one of the best recurring Tim and Eric guest stars, with a deadpan that's positively Canadian:

    5. I am a sucker and I refuse to learn from history.

This bad boy's gots a bit of Lonely Island DNA coursing through its veins. If it's half as funny as the brilliant nonsense that was Hot Rod, then it'll be well worth the price of admission.
