Pets' fans to gather for Ferret Frolic

Fans and, of course, owners of ferrets will gather 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, for the second annual Ferret Frolic. The day features a full lineup of ferret games such as tube races and paper-sack escapes. There also will be a ferret maze, a costume contest and a marketplace.

A highlight of the day will be a talk by noted black-footed ferret expert Travis Livieri, who will discuss the efforts of the Prairie Wildlife Research to reintroduce the ferret back into the wild.

The event, sponsored by the Houston Area Ferret Association, will be held at the City of West University Place Senior Center, 6104 Auden. Admission for spectators (without ferrets) is free.
