Video game news: It's Monday, Monday!

    Get your RAGE on ... for free

    Power to the people! After 100,000 likes on the social mecca Facebook, Bethesda Softworks and iD Software want to celebrate by giving away iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch versions of their game RAGE HD away for ... FREE.

    From their press release:

    RAGE comes to your iPhone/iPad/iPod touch with the hit of the wastelands, Mutant Bash TV! This intense first-person shooter casts you in the starring role of a post-apocalyptic game show where you’ll be stalked by hungry mutants while you scour pulse-pounding levels for ammo and cash pick-ups. Make a deal with J.K Stiles, the show’s menacing host, and see if you have what it takes to survive this carnage-filled carnival of death!

    RAGE HD is available for download on the Apple iTunes store
    via this link.

    It's pretty cool and free. You will need to connect via wifi because the file is over 700MB. Unfortunately, Android types are left in the cold on this one. ;(

    NBA 2K12 Legends revealed

    2K Sports, who reignited NBA video game sales last year with adding NBA Legend Jump 23 to the game, are taking their newest game to the next level.

    2K Sports is adding 14 NBA greats to the upcoming NBA 2K12.

    “NBA’s Greatest” legends in NBA 2K12 include:

    Kareem Abdul-Jabbar;
    Larry Bird;
    Wilt Chamberlain;
    Julius Erving;
    Patrick Ewing;
    Magic Johnson;
    Michael Jordan;
    Karl Malone;
    Hakeem Olajuwon;
    Scottie Pippen;
    Oscar Robertson;
    Bill Russell;
    John Stockton;
    Isiah Thomas;
    Jerry West.

    That's a squad, if you ask me. Dominque Wilkins and Houston's own Clyde the Glide Drexler would have been awesome additions, as well as ball-handling fiend Bob Cousy. Still, any of them on a squad makes your team a threat.

    Thanks for the tip on RAGE HD. I tend to avoid facebook (any any similar sites) like the plague so I'd have missed out otherwise.

    Looking forward to Deus Ex. Fingers firmly crossed that it continues the trend of excellent gameplay and story the Deus Ex series has delivered thus far.

    HC-Matt - thanks for the comment. I snagged two copies of RAGE HD. Loved it. It is a big sucker so you'll need to do wifi to get it off the App store. I am going to redownload it tonight to my laptop so I can have it when I upgrade my iPhone.

    As far as Deus Ex, I will wait for it to hit OnLive. Eidos didn't send a review copy, so no review for it or 'El Shaddai.'

    Have a great day, sir!
