“Sex is fun.
Sex is kinky.
Sex is intimate.
Sex is gamified.”
That’s the intro to a coming-soon app developed by two Houston men.
Arnold Castro, 34, and his longtime friend Justin Waldrip have developed the GuysKeepScore app. It’s been submitted to Apple Store and Google Play Store and expected to be available for download in two to three weeks.
The app allows you to track your sexual history and earn badges as you try new sex positions, locales and partners. There’s a sortable illustrated guide to sexual positions.
One of the app’s selling points is that it makes a game of using condoms during sex. Eventually, app users will be able to redeem points earned for using condoms for prizes.
“You’ll get perks for using condoms,” explained Castro. “We want younger people to use condoms more.”
Castro says he and Waldrip, both graduates of Deer Park High School, have partnered with a condom company, but are must wait until later this month to announce the name of its marketing partner.
“We’re trying to do our part to promote safe sex,” Castro said.
GKS, at least, gives lip service to safe sex. There’s links on the site to information and testing for sexually transmitted diseases.
And coming soon also: Girls Keep Score and Gays Keep Score.

I really hope Apple denies entry of this depraved app in their store. It has no place there.
I'd disagree that it's a depraved app. I'm intrigued by the possibility that it'll make younger people be more responsible. We're facing an epidemic that needs some serious help. So don't be narrow-minded about the concept. Kudos to these two guys.
Just when I thought we couldn't get much stupider.
Oh, no, there's always room for more stupid.
App will never see the light of day...
Why don't you write about Small Call the app Google said couldn't be done and phone providers hate. The developer is here in Houston too.
Because a story about a utility app (no matter how great it is) is boring when compared to a story about a sex app!
Seriously? Do you really think this is about promoting safe sex? One thing's for sure, the geeks that developed this will always have a zero on their own profiles. I can see them in the basements of their parent's house thinking, If only we could get a real girl. Guess they will have to keep their VR goggles on.
Sex is good. I can't wait for this app.

I'm pretty sure the 'perk' is actually getting to use a condom with a partner, lol.
are there points for girls swallowing...??
OK, funny things is two losers, trying to market to losers..One can not get a date, ( little dude) other king of STD's
guys at this age wanting to be something...sad....
It's a pointless app. It's a game; of course you're going to say you used a condom. Who knows if you did or didn't.
It bothers me when people produce crap like this and hide behind trying to "promote this and that". No, you are promoting your pocketbook.
Well, it's nice to see our app posted on here. Seeing the amount of misinformation flowing through the comments, we figured we could maybe provide answers for any questions you guys may have.
No, we don't live in a basement or with our parents. We wish though, as a home-cooked meal everyday and no mortgage payments sounds amazing. We've both been in long term relationships so no one is trying to date anyone or spreading any type of diseases.
We are just two guys trying to make a change. I'm not sure if any of you have seen this, but it's a ranking of all of our states for their sexual health. Here is the article so you can read a little more on it: http://www.sexualhealthrankings.com/news-release/
Texas ranks near the bottom. We're not a very healthy state when it comes to sex. As a country we're not doing too well either. So why make this app? To hopefully help couples in the bedroom by spicing things up, which you understand if you've been in a long term (6+ years) relationship, help people keep track of their sex life (if you're single), and promoting safe sex. All those items will help elevate our state's health...and country's health.
Although we can't release too much information on the safe sex part, we can tell you that it's like nothing you've seen before. If you remember Planned Parenthood's www.WhereDidYouWearIt.com campaign, you'll see the direction we're headed. Details will be released soon enough.
But to avoid more misinformation, please post any questions you may have and we'll try to answer them.

GKS, your “health” reasons are crap. This is disgusting. Making a game about sex and rewarding players for having more sex is just a disgrace. It saddens me to think that my daughter will grow up in a world where this game might be played. Do either of you have daughters? What if they become a “score?” Have you ever thought about that?
Sex is unfortunately something you will not be able to hide your kids from. Yes, one of us does have a daughter. We'll never attempt to hide our kids from the dangers of the world, but instead educate them on the realities. This is something that parents fail to do on a daily basis. If she was to become a 'score', we hope that she played it safely.
We've all been there and our kids will too. To expect your kids to be virgins beyond their teens is wishful thinking. We're not saying it doesn't happen, but it's not very often in today's society. The average person loses their virginity at 17. We are doing what we can to educate people and allow them to have a more meaningful and safe sex life. We also understand that this app is not for everyone. Best of luck to you.
