In case you didn't know, Houston is in line for some bad weather. And, with apologies to SciGuy, I think I've found my favorite new weather guy.
Frankie MacDonald from Sydney, Nova Scotia has racked up 2.5 million views on YouTube for his detailed, enthusiastic bedroom weather reports.
"Have your iPads charged. Have your 3G internet ready. Have your iPods charged. Have your tablets charged," he warns.
MacDonald, who clearly enjoys what he's doing, has more than 7,000 YouTube subscribers and almost 4,000 Twitter followers. He updates the channel and his blog regularly.
The Houston video has almost 30,000 hits. His most popular is a Wisconsin weather warning with more than 300,000 views.
"Order your pizzas, and order your Chinese food! And buy cases of pop!"
Thanks, Frankie. And truth be told, you're more informed and more entertaining than a lot of local weather folks.
I love you Frankie McDonald. I'm gonna go charge my ipod now!
Staci in Houston.
Heard this on Josh and Rich's show today... now I'm feeling like a complete azz for laughing. The bit sounds like a joke on the radio, but the video comfirms that he's special. Good luck to the kid - no shame in his game!
