About me:

Multi-disciplinary visual artist Kellye Sanford works in a range of media, from painting, printmaking and sculpture, to photography, digital imagery and book arts. Her work has appeared on television and billboards, in newspapers, magazines and books, and has been exhibited in gallery, museum and university settings. Sanford designs Gloss magazine, an upscale fashion and lifestyle monthly publication of the Houston Chronicle. She also works as a freelance book designer specializing in literary fiction and poetry and helping non-profit organizations self-publish. Design and consultation clients include Baylor College of Medicine, M.D. Anderson, The Women’s Fund for Health Education and Research, Houston Public Library Foundation, Rice University, The Houston Bar Association, Southern Methodist University Press, and Texas Review Press. Sanford has received awards from the international Society for News Design, International Newspaper and Marketing Executives, Texas Associated Press Managing Editors, Associated Press Sports Editors, National Association of Black Journalists, Hearst Newspapers, the Press Clubs of Dallas and Houston and others. She is an active member of Art League of Houston and Lawndale Art Center. She is a past president and a member of the advisory committee of Women in the Visual and Literary Arts and has served three years on the executive committee of DiverseWorks.
