You're right about that G'Tron. Daisy was the princess from Gameboy's Super Mario Land. In the original release of Donkey Kong Pauline was just "The Lady." Maybe Mario's English was more rusty back then...

Recently, Daisy and Pauline wonder why Mario never calls them anymore--Peach must have made him pitch his little black book.
