I never had much of an issue with Thelma. I got a kick out of her telling the UPS guy he would have to wait for the lunch crowd to clear out before she would sign anything. He shrugged and got in line to eat. Her brisket had a great smoke and her catfish was nothing short of amazing. I'm fascinated by people who would pull up to a little hole in the wall place and expect special service. Gonna miss Thelma... for sure.
Yep, have to agree with Mochazina... gotta have the heads on. My favorite in NOLA Pasquale's Manale does it great. Nice flavor with the shrimp at Rouxpour, but not the same... and who doesn't want to dip bread in all that buttery sauce?
Been eating here for two years now off and on and it's still one of my favorites. The service is almost always excellent and the food is too. Management isn't standing around resting either as the menu changes and there are always specials. The new addition is great and adds an opportunity for private parties... but who wants privacy at Rouxpour? Still the best bar in the area. Sunday football with the windows open, Texan and Saint fans cheering is a great feel and not to be missed.
I'll be checking out the Sugar Land block party in front of Rouxpour and Blu. It's also a few steps from The Flying Saucer where the real beer will be served!
I don't get these restaurant sales pitches on here. I would be good if the article was part of a review but like it is, I wonder how much this restaurant paid for the coverage. It's cool to know what the chef is trying to do, but it's more important to me to know how the chef is doing and that is where the review would help.
Still, I'll be checking out Blu for myself.
