Wow that matzo ball pho looks so good. Can't wait to try it. I've always loved the Eatsie Boys since their Eastside farmer's market days. Sorry to hear you didn't get the Snuggies at their best because they are fantastic. Did they still have some of their old sandwiches like the Eggman and the Sabotage? Also will they have beer?
oh man. in the same strip as Pizaro's? I haven't been to either, but I'd still be torn between the two choices based on your review. Either way I'd feel like I was cheating myself. I guess I could always take a few friends and eat smaller portions at both!
To me, "that chugging of the beer thing" is a fun tradition meant for one moment during service to stop and revel in what they're doing; making amazing food. I can't be sure my observation is the true meaning but even if it's not, it's why it's fun to be present during the event. It shows they don't take themselves too seriously.
Thanks Alison for giving one of my favorite bartenders some much deserved credit. I really enjoyed this article because you managed to capture Frankel perfectly. Your keen observation lends itself beautifully to people as well as food.

Can't wait. Alba is one the best.
I miss the okra beignets from Bootsie's too.
